GAMECO, a leading maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider based in Guangzhou, has taken on a major undertaking by starting its first comprehensive 12-year inspection of an Emirates Airbus A380. This event marks a significant step forward in the long-standing partnership between GAMECO and Emirates, solidifying their commitment to collaboration.
The arrival of the Emirates A380, registered A6-EDV, in Guangzhou on July 14th signaled the commencement of this extensive inspection. It is the first time GAMECO has conducted outsourced maintenance for the A380 model, demonstrating their growing capacity to handle complex and large-scale aircraft maintenance projects.
GAMECO’s relationship with Emirates goes beyond this particular inspection. The airline has been relying on GAMECO for heavy maintenance services for its A380 fleet since January. Emirates, with its fleet of 119 A380s, remains one of the few airlines that continue to invest in and operate the iconic double-decker aircraft, despite others phasing it out during the pandemic.
The A380 currently undergoing maintenance at GAMECO’s facilities was originally delivered to Emirates in July 2012. Equipped with four Engine Alliance GP7000 engines, this aircraft is a testament to Emirates’ dedication to providing luxurious travel experiences on a grand scale. This comprehensive inspection, spanning 12 years, underlines the trust Emirates has in GAMECO’s expertise and commitment to upholding the highest standards of aircraft maintenance.
