GATE 2025 Exam Dates Announced: February 1, 2, 15, and 16

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has officially announced the examination dates for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. According to the schedule released by IIT Roorkee, the GATE 2025 exam will be conducted in February 2025.

The exam will be held over four days: February 1st, 2nd, 15th, and 16th, 2025, and will be administered in two shifts each day. IIT Roorkee is expected to begin the registration process for GATE 2025 in the last week of August.

GATE 2025 will be conducted as a computer-based test (CBT) and will comprise a total of 30 papers. The examination will be conducted exclusively in English. Candidates have the option to appear for one or two test papers from the permitted two-paper combinations.

The exam will consist of two sections: Section 1 will cover General Aptitude, while Section 2 will be based on the candidate’s chosen subject. The question format will include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

It is important to note that GATE 2025 scores will remain valid for three years from the date of the announcement of the results.

GATE 2025 is a collaborative effort, jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven IITs: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee. This collaboration is undertaken on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB) – GATE, which falls under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

Candidates who successfully qualify GATE 2025 will be eligible for admission to various Master’s and Doctoral programs in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, and Humanities. These programs are offered by institutions supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other government agencies. Additionally, qualified candidates may receive financial assistance during their studies.
