Despite a frustrating season start, Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux is slowly showing signs of improvement. After missing most of last season with a knee injury, Lux struggled early this year with a batting average of just .148. However, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has expressed confidence in Lux, saying it’s too soon to overreact to his slow start. Lux’s recent performance seems to support Roberts’ optimism. On Wednesday night, Lux went 2-for-5 with two RBIs in the Dodgers’ 11-2 victory over the Washington Nationals. It was Lux’s first multi-hit game since March 30 and doubled his RBI total for the season. The Dodgers offense, as a whole, was firing on all cylinders against Nationals starter Jake Irvin. Mookie Betts had four hits, Shohei Ohtani had three doubles, and Andy Pages hit a home run and had three hits. The Dodgers scored in every inning except the fourth and fifth, chasing Irvin from the game in the fifth inning. Rookie starter Landon Knack turned in a solid performance on the mound for the Dodgers. Knack allowed only one run on five hits in six innings of work. He struck out eight batters and walked two. With the win, the Dodgers improve to 26-18 on the season and have now won three straight games. They will look to continue their winning streak on Thursday when they face the Nationals again in the series finale.
