This exciting new series, featuring PWRcell 2 and PWRcell 2 MAX, empowers homeowners with increased power, reliability, and smarter integration across their entire energy ecosystem.
The PWRcell 2 packs a powerful punch, delivering 18 kWh capacity within a single cabinet and boasts a 10 kW maximum continuous power output. This impressive power is enough to start practically any single load within your home during a power outage, even including a 5-ton A/C unit. The PWRcell 2 MAX takes things to the next level, offering even greater power at launch, with a max continuous power output of 11.5 kW. It also boasts the capability to start loads exceeding 200A LRA, features higher efficiency, and operates across a broader temperature range.
Both PWRcell 2 and PWRcell 2 MAX are designed to seamlessly integrate with Generac’s comprehensive family of generator products, offering customers a smart, open ecosystem for enhanced resilience and energy independence. In the event of a multi-day power outage, homeowners can rest assured with a paired PWRcell 2 and Generac brand generator. If the PWRcell 2 battery reserves run low, the generator kicks in, powering the home and simultaneously recharging the battery, ensuring families stay comfortable during extended outages.
These cutting-edge products enable effortless home energy management and feature native integration with ecobee smart thermostats, providing an in-home display where homeowners can monitor their storage system, helping them achieve significant savings on energy bills. When paired with PWRcell 2 or PWRcell 2 MAX, the ecobee smart thermostat sends alert notifications and automatically adjusts temperature set points during outages, efficiently preserving stored energy and extending backup duration.
The PWRcell 2 is slated for availability by the end of the year, while the PWRcell 2 MAX is scheduled to make its debut in the second half of 2025. “With escalating energy costs and increasingly frequent power outages, home energy management is paramount for our customers.
