Giants Open to All Scenarios Ahead of 2024 NFL Draft

With the 2024 NFL Draft approaching, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen is exploring all options regarding the team’s No. 6 overall pick. The Giants’ strategy will depend on the selections made by the five teams ahead of them. While Chicago is expected to select quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick and Washington is likely to take Jayden Daniels at No. 2, the remaining picks are highly uncertain.

Schoen has not ruled out the possibility of moving up to select a quarterback like Drake Maye from North Carolina or trading back to acquire additional picks. The Giants currently have 15 players with first-round grades on their draft board, so trading down significantly is unlikely.

Schoen has been in continuous contact with general managers around the league to gather information and negotiate potential deals before the draft. He is prepared to make quick decisions once the clock starts running on Thursday night.

The Giants own one selection in each of the first six rounds but do not have a seventh-round pick. Schoen has a history of making trades in his first two drafts with the Giants, including moving up to acquire cornerback Deonte Banks last year.

The pre-draft process will continue until the clock begins on the No. 1 pick on Thursday night. Schoen will sift through rumors and keep his cards close to his vest while gathering as much information as possible.

Ultimately, the Giants’ draft strategy will be determined by the actions of the teams ahead of them and Schoen’s ability to make informed decisions based on the available information.
