Giants’ Oracle Park Lights Up with New Lighting System, Showcasing Camilo Doval’s Entrance

San Francisco Giants fans were treated to a spectacle of light and sound as Oracle Park debuted its newly installed lighting system and sound upgrades. The Giants, who had yet to hit a home run in their home stadium this season, unveiled the system with a grand display during Camilo Doval’s entrance for the ninth inning. The stadium went dark, then glowed orange as the bullpen door swung open, and Doval emerged illuminated by a crosshatch of spotlights. The Latin-influenced beat of his entrance music, “Bandoleros” by Don Omar, pulsated through the stadium’s overhauled sound system, featuring 523 new speakers and 56 additional amplifiers.

Doval, who chose the music, expressed his amazement at the vivid display, describing it as “like a movie, like a Hollywood-type thing.” The Giants’ lighting system upgrade brings them in line with other MLB stadiums that have adopted flashing LED lights for celebrations and closer’s entrances. The unique addition of spotlights to Oracle Park is a feature exclusive to the Giants.

The Giants envision the spotlights being used for more than just Doval’s entrance, suggesting they could be employed to highlight home runs into McCovey Cove. Starting pitchers are also eager to see the spotlights incorporated into their performances. The new lighting and sound system at Oracle Park adds to the overall fan experience, creating a more immersive and entertaining atmosphere for Giants home games.
