Several videos have been circulating on the internet, documenting the extraordinary passage of a giant meteorite across the skies of Spain and Portugal on Saturday. Although there has been no official confirmation regarding the meteorite, social media has been flooded with images and videos depicting the sky illuminated by a vivid blue glow.
As soon as these visuals began circulating online, social media platforms erupted with a chorus of reactions. Many users expressed their astonishment, while others were simply awestruck by the sight. One user, commenting on an image posted on Reddit, remarked, “Wow this was impressive, so bright! From the color it seems be made of magnesium.” Another user wrote, “Here’s where I’m weirded out. the person filming it, probably missed actually seeing it. I thank you for your service.” The greenish glow was consistent with meteorites, according to another user.
Meanwhile, an excited user shared videos of the event, exclaiming, “UNREAL!! MASSIVE Meteor sighting over Portugal! To see a streak like this is a once-in-a-lifetime event! No word on whether it hit earth and become a Meteorite! Also seen for Hundreds of miles! Wow.”
