Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has expressed concerns to the Central Government regarding the shift of airline operations from Dabolim Airport to the newly inaugurated Manohar International Airport (MIA) in Mopa. He met with Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu in New Delhi to discuss these concerns and explore solutions to potential challenges arising from the transition.
During the meeting, Sawant emphasized the potential impact on aviation activities at Dabolim Airport and sought the Centre’s support to ensure its continued viability. He highlighted the concerns of his government regarding the smooth functioning of Dabolim Airport post the shift of operations to Mopa.
The discussion involved a high-level delegation from Goa, including cabinet ministers Mauvin Godinho and Rohan Khaunte, along with junior civil aviation minister Murlidhar Mohol. The meeting was also attended by Civil Aviation Secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam and Airports Authority of India Chairman M Suresh.
