GoGBA Hong Kong Organizes Business Exchange in Futian to Explore Opportunities in Shenzhen

GoGBA Hong Kong organized a business exchange in Futian, Shenzhen to assist Hong Kong enterprises in discovering opportunities in the Greater Bay Area. The “Enter the Greater Bay Area – Hong Kong Business Futian Entrepreneurship Exploration and Networking Meeting” saw an exchange group, comprising 40 members coordinated by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), embark on a journey to explore the potential of Futian, a district located on the western side of Shenzhen and adjacent to Hong Kong.

The group visited the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation Technology Park in Hetao, where they delved into the Innovation and Technology (I&T) zone in the southern part of Futian District. This 3.89 square kilometer area on the Hong Kong border is being developed into a hub for scientific research, higher education, and other support facilities, with ambitions to become a major innovation base.

Tina Wei, Manager of the GoGBA Service Centre, arranged a visit to the Douyin E-commerce Product Selection Centre. This visit aimed to educate delegates on the operation models and product selection methods of domestic e-commerce, helping Hong Kong companies better understand marketing trends, particularly through livestreaming.

The group also toured the Shenzhen New Generation Industrial Park, home to numerous 5G innovators and a focal point for digital and smart technology industries, with a goal of achieving industrial agglomeration.

The conference highlighted Shenzhen Futian District’s preferential policies for Hong Kong businesses and the rights protection services available for foreign-invested enterprises in Shenzhen. Jim Zeng, Director of the Greater Bay Area Service Centre at HKTDC, and Yvonne Kan, the Shenzhen representative, engaged in in-depth discussions with Hong Kong entrepreneurs.

Many participants expressed hope that the exchange meeting would help Hong Kong companies leverage the services of the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Service Station (Futian) and utilize its excellent communication platforms.

Dr. Edi Koesno and Yvonne Wong, Vice Presidents of the Internet Professional Association, also attended this entrepreneurship visit and exchange meeting. Dr. Koesno stated: “I hope that through this visit, we can learn more about the business opportunities in different areas of Shenzhen, and hope that similar activities can be held in the future for members of other organizations in Hong Kong, so that members can explore new business opportunities through on-site visits.”

Ms. Wong mentioned that her initial visit to the technology park in Hetao occurred in 2019, and she observed significant developments since that time. She expressed hope that the entrepreneurship visit and exchange would enable Hong Kong enterprises to comprehend the services offered by the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Service Station in Futian to local businesses, encouraging effective utilization of this communication platform.

Choi Wan-lung, Chairman of the Hong Kong Meilin Association, called on Hong Kong enterprises to develop in Futian, Shenzhen and join the Hong Kong Meilin Association. He said: “The new generation industrial park in Meilin has advanced and complete supporting facilities. It is very suitable for Hong Kong technology companies and e-commerce companies to develop in Shenzhen.”
