Jack Eichel sealed the victory with an empty-net goal late in the third period, while Jonathan Marchessault scored the other goal for Vegas. Logan Thompson made 20 saves in the win for the Golden Knights, while Jason Robertson scored the lone goal for the Stars and Jake Oettinger made 23 saves.
The Stars’ struggles were compounded by injuries to forwards Mason Marchment and Radek Faksa, who both left the game with undisclosed injuries. Game 3 of the series will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. ET, where the Golden Knights will aim to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.
