Randy Torrecampo’s journey to creating Goodness Graze, a successful catering business in the Philippines, began with a simple love for food and a trip to Europe. While studying mass communications, Torrecampo was always involved in different business ventures, from selling cookies to classmates to franchising a burger joint. But it was a suggestion from a friend and his travels through Amsterdam and Belgium that truly ignited his passion for food and inspired him to establish Goodness Graze in 2019.
During his European travels, Torrecampo was captivated by the charm of local shops selling cheese wheels and pastries. He found himself drawn to the stories and history behind each food item, appreciating the craftsmanship and tradition associated with them. This experience sparked an idea: to bring that same sense of connection and appreciation for food back to the Philippines.
However, just as Goodness Graze launched, the COVID-19 pandemic struck. While initially daunting, the pandemic inadvertently became a catalyst for the business’s growth. As people opted for smaller, more intimate gatherings, Torrecampo’s grazing tables became incredibly popular. Despite the uncertainties and challenges, Torrecampo navigated the pandemic by making strategic decisions to ensure the business’s survival.
Goodness Graze evolved from a modest kitchen operation to a full-fledged commissary, catering to various events, from intimate gatherings to large corporate functions. Torrecampo’s dedication and the hard work of his team allowed them to provide exceptional grazing experiences, even amidst the pandemic’s limitations.
Now, with the pandemic behind them, Goodness Graze is expanding its reach. Torrecampo is setting his sights on the south of Metro Manila, including Tagaytay, Silang, and Cavite, bringing his unique brand of food-focused experiences to new communities.
For Torrecampo, food is more than just sustenance; it’s a powerful tool for connection. He believes that gathering around food strengthens bonds and creates lasting memories. He recalls his own family’s tradition of sharing stories and laughter over meals, where each dish evokes specific memories and brings loved ones together. For him, Goodness Graze is a platform to foster this same sense of connection and joy through his carefully curated grazing tables.
