An update to Google Calendar for Android is now available, significantly enhancing the ease of navigating through months.
Previously, moving between months in Google Calendar required repetitive swipes, which became particularly cumbersome when navigating over several months or even years. However, with the introduction of month chips in the latest update, users can now select months much faster and more conveniently.
These month chips appear in a drop-down underneath the current month’s overview, with 4-5 months visible on screen depending on the device’s screen size. Users can simply scroll the bar left or right to quickly select a desired month, both in the past or the future.
This new method of navigation is a substantial improvement over the traditional swiping method, offering a far more efficient way to traverse months. The update is currently available on Google Calendar v13.1 (2024.13.1-624115131) for Pixel devices and has been spotted by other users on Twitter.
It’s important to note that this change is likely implemented server-side, so users may not see it immediately. However, checking the Play Store for updates is recommended to ensure access to the latest features.
