Google Doodle Celebrates Climbing Event at Paris Olympics 2024

Google Doodle has paid tribute to the thrilling ‘Climbing event’ at the Paris Olympics 2024 with a vibrant illustration. The doodle, visible globally, depicts a bird scaling a statue, symbolizing the climbers’ quest for victory. The description accompanying the doodle aptly captures the excitement, stating, “Hold off on those other plans because this main event is gripping! Victory is just within reach for the Climbing contestants!”

The doodle’s release coincides with the ‘Semifinal Lead’ of the climbing competition scheduled for today. This event will see a stellar lineup of climbers, including Janse van Rensburg from South Africa, C Harrison from Australia, H Mc Arthur from Great Britain, L Ptocar from Slovenia, Y F Pan from China, and many more. Fans can catch the live action on Jio Cinema and Network 18 channels starting at 1:30 pm.

Meanwhile, India’s athletes are set to compete in various events across different disciplines. Today’s schedule (Day 12, Wednesday) includes the Mixed Marathon Walk Relay (Medal round) featuring Priyanka Goswami and Suraj Panwar at 11.00 am. In track and field, Sarvesh Kushare will participate in the Men’s High Jump (Qualification) at 1.35 pm, Jyothi Yarraji will be in action in the Women’s 100m Hurdles (Round 1) at 1.45 pm, and Annu Rani will compete in the Women’s Javelin Throw (Qualification) at 1.55 pm. The Women’s Team (Quarter-final) will see India (Sreeja Akula, Manika Batra, and Archana Girish Kamath) facing Germany at 1.30 pm. In wrestling, Antim Panghal will be looking to make her mark in the Women’s Freestyle 53kg category, starting with the 1/8 Finals at 3.05 pm, potentially progressing to the Quarter-finals (4.20 pm onwards) and Semi-finals (10.25 pm onwards). The Women’s Freestyle 50kg Gold medal match will see Vinesh Phogat taking on Sarah Hildebrandt at 9.45 pm, while Saikhom Mirabai Chanu will be aiming for a medal in the Women’s 49kg (Medal round) at 11.00 pm.
