The Google Nest Learning Thermostat is set to receive a significant upgrade later this year, according to leaked images circulating on X (formerly Twitter). These images showcase a completely redesigned device with a borderless design, offering a sleek and modern look. The new thermostat also boasts a customizable home screen, allowing users to personalize the displayed information to their liking.
Another notable addition is a feature called ‘Dynamic Farsight,’ which is expected to enhance the current Farsight functionality. This feature displays time, weather, and temperature information, and the Dynamic Farsight update promises improvements to this display.
While the leaks suggest a price increase to $279 from the current generation’s $249, the new Nest Thermostat (4th Gen) promises a range of enhancements. Beyond its aesthetic appeal and enhanced functionality, the leaked documents highlight the thermostat’s compatibility with Matter, making it compatible with a wider range of smart home platforms.
Additional features include a System Health Monitor to proactively identify potential technical issues, reminders to replace air filters, and complete integration with the Google Home mobile app.
While the leaked images and details provide a glimpse into the upcoming thermostat, specifics on the new features’ functionalities remain unclear. Google’s Made by Google event on August 13 is expected to shed more light on the next-gen Nest Thermostat, along with a host of other anticipated product releases, including the Pixel 9 Pro.
