GOP Senate Candidate Links Sherrod Brown to Kamala Harris in New Ad

Ohio GOP Senate candidate Bernie Moreno has launched a new attack ad against his Democratic opponent, Sen. Sherrod Brown, linking him to presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris. The ad, released Wednesday, features clips of Brown praising Harris and expressing support for her policies, aiming to paint Brown as an extension of the Harris-Biden administration.

The ad, titled “Sherrod Brown’s New Friend,” highlights Brown’s endorsement of Harris for president, despite his previous call for President Biden to step down from the race. It emphasizes Brown’s close alignment with Harris and Biden, stating that they have voted together 99% of the time. The ad criticizes Brown for his stance on the border crisis, contrasting his statement that “the border is not an emergency” with Harris’ assertion of a “secure border.”

Moreno’s campaign claims that Harris would be “even more radical than Joe Biden,” and that Brown’s support for her represents a “liberal agenda” that Ohio voters will reject in November.

The ad comes as the race between Moreno and Brown is expected to be tight. Republicans view Ohio as a key opportunity to regain control of the Senate, particularly after Trump won the state by 8 points in 2020. The Cook Political Report currently classifies the race as a “toss-up.”

Brown joins a growing list of vulnerable Democratic senators facing ads that link them to Harris’ policies. Pennsylvania GOP Senate candidate Dave McCormick recently released a similar ad highlighting Democratic Sen. Bob Casey’s praise for Harris while emphasizing her perceived radical stances.

Brown’s campaign has not yet responded to Fox News Digital’s request for comment on the ad.
