On May 18th, the ‘Prabhat Pheri’ or morning procession traversed the city, carrying a message of civic responsibility and the importance of exercising the right to vote. The initiative, led by Gopalganj DM Maqsood Alam, seeks to mobilize citizens to overcome any obstacles and make their voices heard through the ballot box. The ‘Prabhat Pheri’ witnessed enthusiastic participation from school students and NCC cadets, symbolizing the involvement of future generations in the democratic process. In the 2019 general elections, Gopalganj Parliamentary constituency recorded a voter turnout of 55.78%. With this awareness drive, the district administration aims to surpass this figure and ensure a robust representation of the electorate’s voice.
