Grimes Redeems Herself at Coachella Weekend 2 with Improved DJ Set

Grimes faced criticism after her set at Coachella Weekend 1 was labeled a disaster. However, she promised to improve her performance for Weekend 2 and kept her word.

On Saturday, April 20th, Grimes introduced her second-weekend set with a humorous video mocking her first weekend. The video featured a news anchor stating, “They’re calling it the worst disaster in Coachella history.” It also included masked figures claiming that Grimes’ AI equipment was malfunctioning.

Grimes then appeared on screen lying in a hospital bed, with a narrator saying, “The artist is now said to be recovering from severe trauma in an undisclosed location.” The video cut to a building labeled “GRIMES CORP,” where people in hazmat suits carefully transported Grimes’ equipment.

Despite this dramatic introduction, Grimes’ Weekend 2 set was vastly improved. According to Pitchfork, the set lasted for 16 songs and was much more polished and rehearsed than her previous performance. Grimes also vowed to limit the technical difficulties to a maximum of 10 seconds per song.

Overall, Grimes’ second Coachella performance was a success, demonstrating her ability to learn from her mistakes and deliver a more enjoyable experience for fans.
