Grundfos India Aims for Water and Energy Net Zero Targets by 2030

Grundfos Pumps, a renowned advanced water solutions provider, has set forth ambitious plans to achieve water and energy net zero targets at its Indian plant by 2030. This commitment aligns with Grundfos’ global goal of reaching net zero status by 2050.

According to Usha Subramaniam, Grundfos India Country President, the company’s Thoraipakkam facility has already achieved LEED platinum certification as a green building and is projected to become “water positive” by 2025. Grundfos has also implemented pilot projects for circulator water pumps and shifted its Ahmedabad plant to solar energy.

Subramaniam emphasized that Grundfos’ products and solutions play a vital role in promoting sustainability and that the company collaborates with local authorities and business partners to create a positive impact.

In line with the Science-based Target Initiative, Grundfos’ iTruck Drive campaign aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 90%. Launched in September 2023, the iTruck has covered over 90 cities and will continue to reach more locations.

Grundfos India has achieved significant growth, with its turnover increasing by 14% to ₹900 crore during the January-December 2023 period. Industrial solutions accounted for 52% of this revenue, while exports contributed 7%. The company anticipates maintaining its current growth trajectory over the next two years.

Subramaniam also revealed plans to enhance the localization level of production from 40% to 60% within the next three to five years. Shankar Rajaram, Grundfos Indo Region Director – Industry, expressed optimism that India could become an export hub for castings and machined components due to its strong manufacturing base.
