However, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc, the parent company of Rockstar Games, sent a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice to the X account, forcing the removal of the image. This response fueled further speculation, leading some to believe the AI-generated image might be a real screenshot from the game. However, other fans pointed out that the image was likely an enhanced version of a previous gameplay screenshot released in 2022.
This leak comes just as Rockstar Games is gearing up to release the second trailer for GTA 6 on October 4th. The game is expected to launch in the fall of 2025, as announced in the first trailer, which broke a 24-hour viewership record for YouTube video game reveals. Interestingly, the first trailer itself leaked a day before its official release, highlighting the intense interest surrounding the game.
While anticipation for GTA 6 is sky-high, not everyone is on board. Elon Musk, the tech mogul and X owner, recently shared his thoughts on the game, revealing that he’s not a fan of its violent storyline. Musk shared that he attempted to play GTA 5 but couldn’t bring himself to shoot police officers in the opening scene. This admission comes as a surprise given Musk’s affinity for gaming, as he has previously praised games like Elden Ring and Diablo IV.
Musk’s aversion to violence in GTA 6 highlights the game’s controversial nature. The Grand Theft Auto series is renowned for its violent content and narratives centered around organized crime. Despite this, the franchise has achieved tremendous success, selling over 200 million copies of GTA V since its release in 2013.
