Gucci’s Cruise 2025 show in London marked a significant milestone, with Sabato De Sarno presenting his inaugural Cruise collection for the fashion house. The event took place at Tate Modern, a fitting choice given De Sarno’s connection to the city. The collection, inspired by his memories and experiences, blended past and present, showcasing a fusion of Britishness and Italian elegance.
De Sarno’s designs showcased a balance between rigor and extravagance, strength, and delicacy. Short coats were juxtaposed with wild chamomile flora motifs, tartans, and plaid. Tailoring was reinterpreted with delicate embroidered bead fringe, and horsebit details paid homage to Gucci’s equestrian heritage. 3D flower embroideries in laser-cut organza created ethereal pieces that seemed to mold around the body.
Celebrity guests added to the glamour of the event, with Vogue Arabia’s cover star Salma Hayek Pinault attending in a one-shoulder LBD. Sabrina Elba opted for a sparkling gray number, and Alia Bhatt chose a deep purple bodycon dress. The front row was graced by the likes of Lila and Kate Moss, Solange Knowles, Dua Lipa with Rina Lipa, Paul Mescal, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Demi Moore, all showcasing the sartorial prowess of Gucci Cruise 2025.
