Sabato de Sarno, Gucci’s creative director, took the stage at Milan’s Triennale to unveil his third women’s ready-to-wear collection for the brand (marking his fourth collection if you include the cruise collection). The runway itself, as well as the collection itself, were inspired by the magical moment when the sun dips below the horizon. This inspiration translated into a captivating color palette, transitioning from warm oranges to a vibrant, fiery red known as ‘Ancora.’
The collection itself evoked the spirit of the 1960s and 1970s, with nods to classic styles. A white tank top with a bold red outline served as a perfect example of this retro-inspired aesthetic. The signature ‘A’ silhouettes and the iconic Flora scarf were also showcased, styled alongside oversized, rounded sunglasses. The lengths of the garments varied, ranging from mini pieces to floor-length trench coats. Some of the coats featured fringed details that perfectly coordinated with the handbags, while the iconic Bamboo bag inspired the design of the jewelry.
As the models took their final walk, the atmosphere was electrifying. With the enchanting melody of ‘Non Voglio Mica La Luna’ by Fiordaliso playing in the background, both the models and de Sarno himself danced in a playful pursuit of the sun, perfectly encapsulating the collection’s vibrant and optimistic spirit.
