Gujarat Braces for More Rain as Flood Situation Persists

Gujarat, still reeling from devastating floods caused by heavy rainfall, is bracing for more rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall across the state, with the Saurashtra and Kutch regions likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall.

To alert residents and authorities, the IMD has issued an orange alert for several districts in the Saurashtra-Kutch region, including Jamnagar, Porbandar, and Dwarka. These areas are expected to experience particularly intense rainfall on Friday, August 30.

Other districts in the region, including Rajkot, Junagadh, and Morbi, have been placed under a yellow alert, indicating the potential for heavy rainfall in isolated locations.

The IMD’s latest weather bulletin indicates that most parts of Gujarat will experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers on Friday. This includes districts in the state’s central and northern regions, along with the Union Territories of Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli.

The continued rainfall highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Gujarat as it works to recover from the recent floods. The IMD’s alerts serve as a crucial reminder for residents to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of heavy precipitation.
