The Gujarat Giants have retained Iranian raider Mohammad Nabibakhsh for the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11. The Giants used their Final Bid Match (FBM) card to secure the player for a price of 13.60 lakhs. Nabibakhsh was previously released by the Puneri Paltan ahead of the 2023 Auction after being used sparingly in Season 10. He had joined the Giants in PKL Season 10 after being bought for 22 lakhs.
Nabibakhsh began his PKL journey with the Bengal Warriors in 2019, winning the title with the team. He even captained the Warriors in the semi-final and final matches after Maninder Singh sustained an injury. The 33-year-old raider accumulated 28 points for Gujarat in 21 matches last season.
An Iranian international, Nabibakhsh was also part of the Iranian squad that won gold at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. His experience and ability will be valuable assets to the Gujarat Giants as they aim for another successful season in PKL 11.
