Gujarat’s first female skydiver, Shweta Parmar, celebrated Earth Day with a daring solo descent from 13,000 feet in Thailand.
With a ‘End Plastic’ flag in hand, Parmar symbolized the global effort to reduce plastic pollution. Her jump highlighted Earth Day’s theme, ‘Planet vs Plastics.’ Parmar, who has over 300 jumps to her credit, is a licensed skydiver with over five years of experience.
She has partnered with EarthDay.Org, the world’s largest environmental organization, to spread the message of sustainability. Parmar emphasized the importance of taking action for our planet, even through small steps.
In 2021, Parmar became India’s fourth female skydiver and holds several achievements in her field. She has also launched the ‘Skydive India Campaign’ to promote skydiving and help others obtain licenses for solo jumps. This initiative also raises funds for Setu Trust, an organization working towards the development of underprivileged communities.
