The Mumbai Crime Branch has achieved a significant breakthrough in the investigation of the Salman Khan house firing incident by recovering the two guns used in the crime. The weapons, along with 10 cartridges, were retrieved from the Tapi River in Surat, a city located in the western Indian state of Gujarat.
The recovery of the firearms is a major development in the case, which has been under investigation since the incident occurred on April 14th. The accused, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, were arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch Unit 9 from the Kutch Bhuj area. During interrogation, they provided information about the location where they had disposed of the guns.
Acting on this information, a team from the Mumbai Crime Branch Unit 9, assisted by the Surat Crime Branch and skilled divers, launched a search operation in the Tapi River on Monday morning. The search efforts proved successful, leading to the recovery of both guns and the ammunition.
The investigation has revealed that the accused were instructed to fire 10 rounds at Salman Khan’s residence, but they only managed to discharge five before fleeing the scene. The Crime Branch has recorded statements from 10 individuals in connection with the incident.
