While you might not be able to live exactly like Gwyneth Paltrow – that would require a hefty bank account, movie star genes, and a wardrobe filled with designer labels – you can now bring a touch of her Montecito charm into your home. CB2 has just launched a limited-edition furniture, lighting, and dining collection designed by Paltrow and her lifestyle brand, Goop.
This collaboration feels like it was plucked straight from a light and airy home in Montecito. Think ivory bouclé chairs, high-gloss white resin dining tables, shearling seating, and Spanish alabaster sconces. But Paltrow reveals that her inspiration extended far beyond Santa Barbara. She explains to Vogue, “In drawing inspiration from both the elegance of modern Parisian apartments, and the architecture of mid-century Italian modernist furniture—we designed a collection that was eclectic, yet cohesive at the same time.”
This eclecticism is evident in the details. A shearling armchair features marble legs with brass caps, while a chandelier is reminiscent of dangling earrings. Another pendant casts a soft rose gold glow when lit. “The collection feels unique and special enough to stand the test of time,” Paltrow adds.
The collection extends beyond just the statement pieces. Colored wine glasses come in vineyard-inspired hues of olive and aubergine. A dainty mug, meanwhile, looks like it could have been discovered at a Parisian flea market.
This marks the second collaboration between Goop and CB2. The first, launched in 2018, was one of CB2’s best-selling collaborations ever. Why? It artfully capitalized on trending aesthetics – bouclé remains a popular material in interior design – as well as the aura of Gwyneth Paltrow. The pieces in the collection are remarkably similar in style to those featured in her Montecito and Los Angeles homes, which were showcased in Architectural Digest.
