Gwyneth Paltrow’s annual In Goop Health Summit returned to the upscale Golf Club & Spa in Carlsbad, California, from April 19 to 21, unveiling a newly renovated resort as part of a $60 million project. Attendees paid $1,200 for a day-long Summit Pass or $4,000 for a Weekender Pass, which included a two-night stay at the resort, a welcome dinner, and brunch. The summit featured an array of wellness experiences and thought leaders, including Justina Blakeney, founder of home décor brand Jungalow, and Emma Grede, co-founder of Khloé Kardashian’s denim brand in 2016, co-founded shapewear with her husband Jens Gredes and Kim Kardashian in 2019, and rolled out both Kris Jenner’s natural cleaning brand Safely in 2021 and Kylie Jenner’s Khy fashion label in October 2023. In a conversation with Paltrow, Grede discussed the importance of building brands with staying power, emphasizing the need for mission, vision, values, and creating best-in-class products. “You can’t anchor a business around a personality alone, if you want to be a brand with staying power, right? Because we all know that celebrity currency goes up and down,” Grede said. “You have to have mission, vision, values, as any brand needs.” The summit also featured a curated array of Goop merchandise, including the latest Goop Beauty products and G. Label by Goop apparel. Guests could also browse a variety of gold jewelry, receive astrology readings, ear seeding, B12 shots, gua sha scalp massages, and HigherDOSE infrared sauna treatments. Healthy snacks and beverages were available throughout the event, including Bjorn Corn, Simply Fruit Bites, Purely Elizabeth granola, and coffee and matcha drinks infused with collagen, protein, electrolytes, and zero-proof spirits. On the agenda, couples therapist Esther Perel gave a talk on “how to fight well” with your partner, while grief expert David Kessler sat down with psychotherapist Jonathan Fields to discuss embracing change. Also in the rotation was wellness expert and reiki master Colleen Saidman Yee, who led a yoga, meditation, and sound bath class using charged stones to channel chakra energies. The summit showcased the latest wellness trends and innovations, including the launch of The Well at Carlsbad, a new wellness destination offering experiences at over 30 properties, including the Golf Club & Spa. Paltrow herself led her signature “Ask Me Anything” session, answering questions on a wide range of topics, including her personal growth and aspirations. “I’m always continuing to learn and assess,” Paltrow said. “Am I in the right spot? Is it time to do a different role at the company? Do I want to be here for a long time or could somebody do it better? I think it’s important to always question where you are when you have ambitions for growth but also to just allow for the specialness of what you bring.” The In Goop Health Summit provided attendees with an immersive experience in the world of wellness, offering a platform for thought leaders and experts to share their insights and the latest innovations in the industry.
