Gym Trainer Arrested for Assaulting 20-Year-Old with Wooden Club in Mumbai

A 34-year-old gym trainer in Mumbai has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a 20-year-old man with a wooden club, known as a Mudgal, used for exercise. The incident, caught on camera, occurred at a gym in Mulund East and has sparked outrage. The video clip shows the trainer picking up the wooden club and smashing it on the victim’s head while he was exercising.

The victim, identified as 20-year-old Yogesh Shinde, was immediately rushed to a hospital following the assault. Reports indicate that he is currently in stable condition but sustained a minor fracture, according to a police complaint. However, Republic TV reported that Shinde sustained two fractures in his skull.

The accused trainer reportedly claimed that Shinde was looking at him with anger at the gym. Shinde subsequently filed a complaint against the trainer, leading to his arrest on charges of assault and causing grievous hurt. The incident highlights the importance of addressing violence and ensuring safety in fitness environments.
