A fierce hailstorm wreaked havoc on Colorado’s Eastern Plains overnight, causing severe travel disruptions, flooding, and damage, with Yuma hit the hardest.
The storm, which moved through the region overnight, brought heavy rain, large hail, and flooding. The town of Yuma was one of the hardest-hit areas, with streets blanketed in hail and cars stranded in the middle of the road. First responders had to assist two people inside a pickup truck that was leaning on its side in the floodwaters.
Tornado warnings were issued in Morgan County and Washington County, but fortunately, there were no reports of injuries.
The hailstorm also caused damage to homes and businesses in Yuma. Hail snapped tree branches and shattered windows. Power outages were also reported across the region.
