Half-Earth Day® Conference Focuses on Energy Future, Environmental Impact

As the global energy demand skyrockets amid a worsening climate crisis, finding innovative solutions to balance energy production and environmental preservation is more critical than ever. EarthX is stepping up to address this urgent need by hosting a Half-Earth Day® Conference on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.

This one-day event, titled “Maximizing Energy, Minimizing Environmental Impact: Shaping a Policy and Regulatory Strategy for the Future of Energy,” will bring together top leaders from the energy sector, legal community, government, business, and environmental organizations. The goal is to explore the future of energy, particularly considering the potential impact of upcoming November events on U.S. economic and regulatory policies.

The conference is designed to be highly interactive, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas between speakers and attendees. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison will be the keynote luncheon speaker. The conference, presented by EarthxLaw, EarthX’s law advisory council, and co-presented by the Texas Energy Council and the Texas Energy & Climate Caucus, is designed to offer anyone invested in the future of energy the opportunity to engage with leading experts on the policy and regulatory frameworks that will shape energy production and environmental safeguards.

Key topics to be discussed include:

*

Determining an appropriate energy mix:

What combination of energy sources is best positioned to accelerate the renewable energy transition?
*

Calibrating the roles of government and the marketplace:

What impact will ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and net zero carbon policies, recent Supreme Court rulings regarding government regulation, and technological and industrial innovation have on driving future energy production and distribution?
*

Maintaining grid reliability and resiliency:

How will new innovations and investments in storage, infrastructure, disaster response and resiliency, and smart metering impact the future of the energy grid?
*

Overcoming barriers to energy production and distribution:

What policy, permitting, infrastructure, and environmentally protective actions can be taken to facilitate energy production and distribution?

This crucial conversation takes place during Half-Earth Day®, EarthX’s celebration marking the midpoint to Earth Day. The event sets the stage for continued discussions at the Futures of Energy Conference, to be held on Earth Day during Earthx2025, which takes place April 21-25.

The Half-Earth Day® conference will also offer networking opportunities and a luncheon keynote (keynote announcement pending), culminating in a unique off-site evening reception and celebration.
