Tyrese Haliburton’s historic triple-double propelled the Indiana Pacers to a thrilling 121-118 overtime victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 3 of their first-round playoff series, giving the Pacers a 2-1 series lead.
Haliburton, in his first home playoff game, made history with his triple-double, finishing with 18 points, 16 assists, and 10 rebounds. His clutch three-point play with just 1.6 seconds remaining in overtime proved to be the game-winner, sending the Pacers faithful into a frenzy.
Despite the absence of two-time league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks battled back from a 19-point deficit to force overtime. Khris Middleton led the charge for Milwaukee, scoring a playoff career-high 42 points, including a game-tying three-pointer with 1.4 seconds left in regulation.
The Pacers, however, refused to be denied. Myles Turner added 29 points and nine rebounds, both playoff career highs, while Pascal Siakam chipped in with 17 points and nine rebounds. Siakam had a chance to win the game in regulation, but his long three-pointer at the buzzer rimmed out.
In overtime, the Pacers finally seized control. Haliburton drew a foul on a 15-foot runner, converting the ensuing three-point play to give Indiana a 121-118 lead. The Pacers held on for the victory, as Middleton’s desperation three at the buzzer bounced off the rim.
The Pacers now have their first playoff lead since Game 3 of a first-round matchup against Cleveland in 2018. They will aim to extend their lead in Game 4, which will be played in Indianapolis on Sunday.
