Halloween TreatLine: HARIBO and Gopuff Rescue Trick or Treating for Disappointed Kids

Halloween is upon us, and while excitement for the spooky season is at an all-time high among children, some adults are falling short in their trick-or-treating efforts. A recent survey reveals that despite the importance of Halloween for kids, many grown-ups are simply not putting in the effort to make the night truly memorable.

To rescue the holiday and ensure every child experiences the joy of trick-or-treating, HARIBO and Gopuff have launched ‘TreatLine’, an emergency sweet service designed to boost Halloween spirits in neighborhoods where local treats fail to impress. The survey, conducted among 1,000 children aged six to 16, identified Brighton as the top spot for trick-or-treating, with Liverpool and Leeds close behind. Bristol, Birmingham, and London, unfortunately, landed at the bottom of the list.

This year, on October 31st, HARIBO and Gopuff are going all out to ensure a fair and fun Halloween experience for costumed visitors. TreatLine will be offering free ‘Monsters Approved’ sweets, like Sour Skeletons, in the three lowest-ranked cities, with over 24,000 mini bags up for grabs.

Phil Murphy of HARIBO UK and Ireland commented, “We want to help grown-ups match the effort kids go to and reward them fairly. Launching the ‘TreatLine’ is just one of the ways we’re making it even easier to do this, taking pressure off adults to also have a little more time themselves to have some fun.”

The survey also revealed that a significant percentage of adults are simply not embracing the Halloween spirit. A staggering 14% confessed they’ve never taken their offspring trick-or-treating, while one in six only occasionally participates in the tradition. Many adults are resorting to drastic measures to avoid the door-knocking festivities, with half drawing their curtains and feigning absence – a tactic particularly popular among Bristolians.

With TreatLine, HARIBO and Gopuff are encouraging everyone to rediscover the childlike joy and happiness of Halloween, no matter their age. The initiative aims to bring a little bit of magic back to the holiday and ensure that trick-or-treating remains a cherished tradition for generations to come.
