Hamilton Dominates Final Italian GP Practice, Verstappen Struggles

Lewis Hamilton continued his strong performance at the Italian Grand Prix, setting the fastest time in the final practice session on Saturday. The seven-time world champion, who already topped Friday’s second practice session, is aiming for a record sixth win at Monza. Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate, George Russell, followed closely behind in second place, giving Mercedes a one-two at the top of the timesheets.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc secured third place, while McLaren’s Oscar Piastri claimed fourth. However, championship leader Max Verstappen encountered difficulties with front grip and could only manage sixth fastest, trailing behind McLaren’s Lando Norris, who took fifth. Norris, fresh off his win in the Dutch Grand Prix last weekend, remains 70 points behind Verstappen with nine races remaining in the season.

Carlos Sainz, who secured pole position at Monza last year, finished seventh. The Williams pair of Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto rounded out the top 10, with Haas’ Nico Hulkenberg completing the top ten. With Hamilton’s dominant performance, all eyes will be on the qualifying session and the race on Sunday to see if he can maintain his momentum and secure a crucial victory.
