The Chandigarh Police have registered a case of murder and initiated a probe after the body of a Haryana Police constable was found in the city’s Maloya locality on Tuesday.
The victim, who has been identified as Ajit, was found dressed in uniform. Preliminary investigations suggest that he may have been stoned to death as he sustained injuries to his face.
Ajit was a resident of the Maloya locality. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and have yet to make any arrests.
