Hawaiian Airlines has made a major leap forward in onboard connectivity by offering free Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi across its entire Airbus fleet. This means passengers traveling on flights between Hawaii and the continental US, Asia, and Oceania can now enjoy reliable and fast internet access throughout their journey.
The airline first partnered with Starlink in February, installing the service on its Airbus A321neo aircraft. Now, all 24 of Hawaiian’s A330 aircraft are equipped with Starlink, providing consistent high-speed internet that’s perfect for working, streaming, and gaming. The installation process was remarkably efficient, allowing passengers to connect to Starlink immediately upon boarding, just like they would connect to their home internet.
“Becoming the first major airline to offer travelers Starlink at no cost is a remarkable achievement for our team, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the overwhelmingly positive response from guests who have been enjoying our industry-leading connectivity onboard,” said Evan Nomura, director of inflight entertainment and connectivity and onboard products at Hawaiian Airlines.
Starlink’s low-Earth orbit constellation of satellites utilizes a revolutionary laser mesh network, providing Hawaiian with a reliable and high-speed solution for connectivity across its global network. Since its initial deployment, Starlink has consistently delivered exceptional performance without service interruptions, even over vast stretches of the Pacific Ocean.
The airline is committed to further enhancing its onboard connectivity by also installing Starlink on its flagship Boeing 787-9 fleet, ensuring passengers enjoy the benefits of fast and free internet access on a broader range of flights. The airline does not plan to deploy the service on its Boeing 717 aircraft, which are used for shorter flights between the islands.
This move solidifies Hawaiian Airlines’ position as a leader in passenger experience and connectivity. It highlights the airline’s dedication to providing a modern and convenient travel experience for its passengers.
