HAX, the hardware accelerator run by SOSV, is hosting its first demo day in four years on May 1st. The event will showcase over 30 startups working on a variety of challenges, including climate change, manufacturing, computing, health, and energy.
Some of the notable companies participating in the demo day include:
– CocoonCarbon, which has developed a small factory inside a shipping container that can turn steel runoff into sustainable cement.
– PureLi, which has designed a system to dramatically speed up lithium extraction in brine lakes.
– Renovate Robotics, which has produced a winch-based robot that installs roof shingles.
– Silana, which is working on a robotic system that can completely automate the sewing process.
The full list of companies participating in the demo day can be found below.
The demo day will be held at HAX’s Newark offices, which are located in a 35,000 square foot space funded in part by $25 million from the state of New Jersey. The space includes a variety of equipment, including metal fab, 3D printing, CNC machines, laser and water jet cutters, and a chemistry lab. HAX has invested heavily in this equipment in order to provide startups with the resources they need to develop their products.
HAX’s Demo Day is a great opportunity to learn about the latest hardware startups and the challenges they are working to solve. If you are interested in attending the event, you can register here: https://hax.co/demo-day-2023/
