Heavy Rainfall Disrupts Traffic in Delhi, IMD Predicts More Showers

Delhi witnessed heavy rainfall on July 23, resulting in significant traffic disruptions and waterlogging in various parts of the city. The Delhi Traffic Police responded by issuing advisories to divert traffic flow, urging commuters to avoid impacted areas.

In a tweet, the Delhi Traffic Police stated, “Due to waterlogging at Anand Parvat, traffic diversions are effective. Kindly follow the advisory.” They also posted a picture on X (formerly Twitter) highlighting the traffic advisory.

Furthermore, the traffic police reported on X, “Traffic is affected on Vir Banda Bairagi Marg due to waterlogging at Zakhira underpass. Commuters are advised to avoid the stretch,” along with a picture indicating the affected area.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall in several states for the day. The agency issued a yellow alert for Delhi on July 24, predicting more intense showers in the capital.

Commuters in Delhi are advised to remain vigilant and check traffic updates before venturing out, particularly in areas prone to waterlogging during heavy rainfall.
