Get ready for a wet weekend in India as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts heavy rainfall across several states. Central Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and more are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on Saturday, August 10.
Delhi residents should brace for moderate to heavy rainfall on both Saturday and Sunday. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the national capital for August 10.
The IMD’s latest weather bulletin states, “Heavy to very heavy rainfall (≥ 12 cm) very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh.”
Heavy rainfall (≥ 7 cm) is also anticipated in isolated areas across Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Assam & Meghalaya, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-BaltistanMuzaffarabad, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Konkan & Goa, ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Several states, including Bihar, Himachal, Uttarakhand, and east Rajasthan, are under an Orange alert due to the prediction of heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated locations.
