Heavy Rains Expected in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam as Cyclone Forms in Bay of Bengal

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for extremely heavy rainfall in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on Sunday, September 8th. This system is expected to move northwards and strengthen into a depression off the North Odisha-West Bengal coasts on September 8th. Subsequently, it will move west-northwestwards across Gangetic West Bengal, north Odisha, Jharkhand, and adjoining north Chhattisgarh over the following three days.

In conjunction with the low-pressure area, enhanced rainfall activity is expected over Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana from September 7th to 10th, 2024.
