Help Amelia Kolpa: Family Appeals for Funds for Last-Ditch Cancer Treatment

Amelia Kolpa’s inspiring journey with cancer began at the tender age of two when she was diagnosed with a rare form of neuroblastoma in her stomach. Despite enduring a gruelling two-year treatment regimen of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy, Amelia emerged victorious in 2022, triumphantly ringing the end-of-treatment bell at the hospital. However, her family’s joy was short-lived as the cancer returned last month, leaving them devastated.

Determined to give Amelia the best chance at recovery, her family is seeking funds to access private treatment that is not available through the NHS. They aim to raise £340,000 to cover the costs of a combination of chemotherapy and antibody treatment at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. This treatment regime has proven effective in combating neuroblastoma in the past, and the family believes it could be Amelia’s last chance at victory.

Amelia’s mother, Katarzyna Bartczak, is heartbroken and desperate for her daughter’s life. She said, “I’m desperate to do anything to try and save my daughter’s life. This is our only chance to save her.” With an online fundraiser already surpassing £13,000, the family is appealing to the public for continued support. They believe that with the community’s help, Amelia can overcome this adversity once again and emerge stronger than ever before.
