Henry Cavill’s latest movie, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, has achieved a notable milestone, matching the highest audience score of any Cavill movie on the popular review aggregator site. The film, directed by Guy Ritchie, has garnered an impressive audience score of 93%, tying it with the director’s cut of Justice League as Cavill’s most critically acclaimed work among audiences.
Coincidentally, both The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and Justice League’s director’s cut also share the same critics’ score of 72%. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a heavily fictionalized retelling of Operation Postmaster, a daring black-ops sabotage mission during World War II. Cavill stars alongside an ensemble cast that includes Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer, and Cary Elwes.
The film has been met with mostly positive reviews from critics, who have praised its action-comedy elements and the performances of the cast. Audiences have also responded favorably, with many praising the film’s entertaining action sequences and balance of humor and intensity.
One viewer on Rotten Tomatoes wrote, “Another classic Guy Ritchie banger. Guy just makes enjoyable action movies,” while another commented, “Tight action movie, with enough comic relief to break up the intensity.”
The film’s release in US theaters has been met with success, but a UK release date has yet to be announced. For more information on upcoming movie releases, check out our guide to the biggest films to watch for in 2024.
