Hezbollah Confirms Death of Top Commander in Israeli Airstrike

Hezbollah, the Lebanese Shiite militant group, has confirmed the death of Ali Karaki, a high-ranking commander, in an Israeli airstrike. Karaki, who held the position of commander of the Southern Front and was the third-highest official in the organization’s command structure, was killed alongside Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in the strike that occurred in Beirut on Friday.

The Israeli military previously announced that Karaki was killed in the strike, which targeted what the military described as an underground compound where senior Hezbollah figures were meeting. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed the airstrike was a significant blow to Hezbollah, aiming to disrupt the group’s operations and capabilities.

Hezbollah has condemned the airstrike, vowing to retaliate for the loss of their top commander. The incident has heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, raising concerns about a potential escalation of conflict in the region.
