In a surprising turn of events, St. Francis snapped their four-game losing streak by defeating powerhouse Serra 15 runs just days prior. Tysen Ellis led the charge for St. Francis, hitting a double and triple and driving in three RBIs. Luke DeVine also contributed two hits and two RBIs, while Gino Cappellazzo scored twice. Chris Han pitched five strong innings, allowing only one run and striking out three. Serra attempted a comeback in the seventh inning, but their efforts fell short.
Benicia dominated Acalanes in a Diablo Athletic League game. The top four hitters in Benicia’s lineup combined for seven RBIs, and Dominic Louro pitched 5.1 innings, allowing only one earned run. Acalanes, who had won their first 17 games, suffered their second consecutive loss.
Stanford commit Quinten Marsh continued his impressive season for Valley Christian. He pitched six innings, allowing only one hit and striking out four. The bottom half of Valley’s lineup provided ample run support, with Rocco Muccilli, Kole Laubach, and Brock Ketelsen each driving in an RBI.
Westmont’s winning ways continued under the leadership of Tony Pianto. Senior Mason Pound threw a two-hit complete game, striking out five batters. Bryce Corbett drove in the winning run in the sixth inning.
Lincoln’s Gianna Crouch led the team with five RBIs in a victory over Piedmont Hills. Jocelynn Perez and Serenity Hernandez combined for five hits and five runs scored for Lincoln. Piedmont Hills’ Michelle Torres went 3 for 4 with two RBIs.
Livermore held on for a tight victory over Foothill in an East Bay Athletic League showdown. Sophia Gerochi had an RBI for Livermore, and Payten Williams went 2 for 3 with the team’s other RBI. Kaci Norton pitched the distance for Livermore, striking out six and walking none.
Alexis Kuka pitched a two-hit complete game for Hillsdale in a win over San Mateo. She also contributed two RBIs at the plate. Liana Mack had two hits for Hillsdale, and Claire Shelton drove in a run.
