A series of cloudburst incidents in Himachal Pradesh has resulted in tragic consequences, with 19 people reported missing and one confirmed dead. The District Disaster Management Authority received reports early Thursday morning of a cloudburst near the Samej Khad hydropower project in Jhakri, Rampur.
The heavy rainfall and subsequent flash floods have caused significant devastation across the state. With more than 30 people reported missing in separate incidents, Health Minister JP Nadda has assured Himachal Pradesh of all necessary assistance from the central government.
In a statement from his office, Minister Nadda expressed his condolences for the losses and disruptions caused by the cloudbursts. He spoke with Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu, promising full support from the central government. Nadda also contacted former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur, as well as the BJP State President, instructing all party workers to participate in relief efforts.
The situation in Himachal Pradesh remains dire, with the heavy rainfall continuing to wreak havoc across the state. Authorities are working tirelessly to locate the missing individuals and provide assistance to affected communities.
