Himachal Pradesh Invests in Tourism with 11 New Initiatives

Himachal Pradesh, nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of the Western Himalayas, is known for its stunning peaks, sprawling rivers, and vibrant culture. The state, often referred to as “Dev Bhoomi” (Land of Gods) and “Veer Bhoomi” (Land of the Brave), is a popular destination for adventure seekers, nature enthusiasts, and cultural explorers alike.

To further enhance its tourism appeal and attract more visitors, Himachal Pradesh has announced 11 new initiatives, totaling over INR 388 crore. These projects are strategically planned to develop infrastructure and beautify key locations, ensuring a memorable experience for tourists.

One of the most significant projects is the construction of a convention center in Dharamshala, allocated INR 161.91 crore. This modern facility will be a hub for conferences, exhibitions, and cultural events, attracting a wider range of tourists. Another major project is the beautification of Palampur and Nagrota Bagwan, costing INR 95.50 crore. These efforts will enhance the aesthetic appeal of these popular destinations, creating a more inviting atmosphere for visitors.

Recognizing the growing demand for wellness tourism, the state is also building a wellness center in Nadaun, valued at INR 91.42 crore. This facility will offer a range of therapeutic and relaxation services, catering to tourists seeking rejuvenation and peace. In addition to these major projects, the state is also investing in an ice skating and roller skating rink in Dharamshala, with a budget of INR 39.51 crore. This recreational facility will be a welcome addition to the region, providing a unique experience for families and individuals alike.

The Chief Minister has instructed officials to expedite these projects, ensuring their completion within the designated timeframe. These initiatives are expected to not only boost tourism but also create new employment opportunities and contribute to the economic growth of the state.
