The video, initially shared by local media outlet Desh Gujarat, shows the woman, Jivuben, and her son walking along with her husband, Ranjitsinh Bhurabhai Bhalgaria. Suddenly, a car comes speeding from behind, crashing into the woman and her son with immense force. Despite the impact, the car continues moving forward, eventually stopping at a high spot where water has accumulated.
The footage, which has sparked outrage across social media platforms, highlights the callous driving and alarming rise of hit-and-run cases in India. The driver’s actions have been condemned by many, with users expressing their anger and concern.
After the accident, the driver, who initially stopped briefly, pulled Jivuben and her son from under the car before fleeing the scene. The injured woman and her son were immediately rushed to the hospital via ambulance, where they are currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.
The incident occurred on September 15th when the Bhalgaria family were walking to their destination on New Science City Road near Umiya Circle after parking their motorcycle. The family was walking safely on the roadside when the speeding car struck them from behind.
Ranjitsinh Bhurabhai Bhalgaria, Jivuben’s husband, has filed a complaint against the driver with the police. While the investigation is ongoing, the accused driver remains unidentified and has not been apprehended.
