HM Queen Rania and HRH Princess Rajwa Al-Hussein Exhibit Graceful Bespoke Looks for HM King Abdullah II’s Silver Jubilee Celebration

HM Queen Rania and HRH Princess Rajwa Al-Hussein, along with other members of the Jordanian royal family, celebrated HM King Abdullah II’s silver jubilee at Raghadan Palace. The momentous event marked the 25th year of his reign and featured a grand military parade with over 8,000 participants.

Princess Rajwa made her first official public appearance since announcing her pregnancy, showcasing a stunning red dress designed by Saudi designer Honayda Serafi. The bespoke gown paid homage to both her Saudi roots and Jordan, featuring geometric embroidery in the colors of the Jordanian flag and silver threads representing the 25th anniversary. The bold red hue symbolized the Hashemite dynasty and Jordan’s love and loyalty.

Queen Rania also paid tribute to the country in her own way, wearing a custom white gown by Jordanian designer Laith Maalouf. The elegant dress featured a shirt-like bodice with seven buttons symbolizing Jordan’s seven-pointed star and a gray bustier representing the country’s strength and protection over the past 25 years. The skirt was adorned with multiple pleats, each embellished with hand-embroidered wheat spikes, a motif representing Jordan’s agricultural heritage and prosperity.

The creation of both gowns involved meticulous craftsmanship, with Princess Rajwa’s dress taking 120 hours of embellishment and Queen Rania’s gown requiring 200 hours of dedicated work. Both designers, Honayda Serafi and Laith Maalouf, emphasized the significance of the designs and the honor of working with the royal family on this special occasion.
