Arts and crafts retailer Hobby Lobby is expanding its presence in New Jersey with the opening of a new store in a former Bed Bath & Beyond location in East Hanover. The store will be situated on 180 Route 10, in Morris County. According to CoStar, Hobby Lobby has secured the site of the former Bed Bath & Beyond store, which closed its doors last year as part of the company’s bankruptcy proceedings. The home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last year and shuttered hundreds of stores nationwide. After the bankruptcy, Overstock.com acquired the company’s intellectual property and retained the Bed Bath & Beyond name, transitioning the business model to an online-only format.
In anticipation of the East Hanover store opening, Hobby Lobby has already begun hiring for positions. Two months ago, the retailer posted a LinkedIn job listing for a ‘retail co-manager’ at the future location. The store is expected to open soon, providing residents of Morris County and the surrounding areas with a convenient destination for craft supplies and home décor. Hobby Lobby’s entry into the former Bed Bath & Beyond space marks a significant addition to the East Hanover retail landscape, offering customers a diverse range of products and services.
