Manchester United’s forward, Rasmus Hojlund, has had fallouts with two of his teammates earlier this season. The Dane, who joined the club last summer from Atalanta for £71 million, has become a fan favorite. However, despite his 13 goals in 37 appearances, Hojlund believes he should have scored more.
Hojlund’s frustrations on the pitch grew, particularly with Bruno Fernandes. The Dane felt that Fernandes was ignoring him on the pitch and expressed his concerns to the coaching staff. This created a tricky situation for Erik ten Hag’s backroom.
Another incident occurred after a 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen in the Champions League. Hojlund was unhappy with Diogo Dalot’s defending, which led to a late equalizer. The situation escalated when United conceded again, losing in the Danish capital. Fernandes sided with Dalot, further isolating Hojlund.
United’s staff intervened and advised Hojlund to address the issue directly with Dalot rather than complaining to them. The pair resolved their disagreement, and Fernandes followed suit.
These incidents highlight the fractured nature of Manchester United’s dressing room this season. The club finished bottom of their Champions League group, exited the Carabao Cup against Newcastle, and currently sits 7th in the league, likely missing out on Champions League qualification. These internal conflicts have contributed to United’s disappointing campaign.
