HomeSafe Alliance has made history by successfully completing the inaugural moves under the Global Household Goods Contract (GHC). This monumental achievement marks a transformative moment in the military moving landscape, as HomeSafe is poised to become the exclusive household move management provider for the U.S. Armed Forces, Department of Defense, and Coast Guard. Launched in the areas of California, Virginia, and Washington, these historic first moves herald a new era of innovation and customer-centricity in the military move experience.
HomeSafe’s approach redefines military moves with best-in-class customer service and cutting-edge technology. The centralized customer care team is available around the clock, providing seamless support via call, text, email, or live chat. The HomeSafe technology platform, MoveCentral, empowers customers with a personalized move portal, granting access to real-time updates and valuable information. Essential features include a customized electronic dashboard, virtual pre-move surveys, accurate digital inventory, geo-fencing technology, and a streamlined electronic claims process.
The GHC ribbon-cutting ceremony was hosted by Atlas Van Lines, one of HomeSafe’s trusted partner service providers, in Alexandria, Virginia. A leading provider of elite moving services since 1981, Atlas Van Lines shares HomeSafe’s unwavering commitment to accountability, excellence, and providing world-class service to military members. HomeSafe’s network of service providers continues to grow, with industry partners dedicated to delivering outstanding military moves.
In addition to the initial go-live locations, HomeSafe’s program will soon expand to include Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, and Washington, D.C. The U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), which awarded the GHC to HomeSafe, strategically selected 14 initial installations for the first GHC moves. These locations represent a diverse range of regions and military installations, ensuring a smooth transition to the new system.
As HomeSafe receives additional military move shipment requests from U.S. Service Branches, it will service a limited initial volume of shipments. This phased approach allows for thorough data flow analysis, troubleshooting, and quality assurance. At the conclusion of the 2024 peak moving season, the Department of Defense will gradually increase the volume of shipments at the initial phase-in locations and expand the GHC to additional installations across the U.S. Plans are in place for a sustained increase in domestic shipment volume into 2025.
HomeSafe’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction is evident in every aspect of its operations. The company’s dedication to transforming the military move experience is a testament to its unwavering support for the brave men and women who serve our nation.
